A procrastination trigger is something that, without fail, just about always leads you towards getting off task. For some people, taking a long lunch can render them unproductive when they return in the afternoon. For most people, however, the most common procrastination trigger is websites that aren't related to your job.

It always starts out innocuous enough. You vow to just spend ten brief minutes checking your favorite blogs and websites. Before you know it, you're in the middle of a two hour clickbait binge, clicking on every single "click here" link to read more and more pointless articles.

Work is not the time and place to be reading these websites. The best way to avoid getting sucked into these time-wasting websites is by not navigating to them in the first place. Vow to only visit work-related websites when you're at the office and you'll see your productivity increase greatly.

Stay Organized and Set Goals

When we're not organized, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the barrage of tasks that rest on our shoulders. Feeling overwhelmed can lead to procrastinating because our mountain of work seems too scary to even begin.

Staying organized is a phenomenal weapon against procrastination. When you're assigned a task, you should immediately write down a timeline of how long you think it will take you to complete the project. Break any project up into smaller, more manageable tasks and write them down on your calendar or agenda. When you stay organized and break your workload into smaller tasks, the project as a whole tends to feel much less overwhelming. When a project doesn't seem overwhelming, you're less likely to put it off.
